For a calm drive to Hollywood Beach, take US-1 South from the airport. After a few miles, you can turn east onto either Hollywood Boulevard or Sheridan Street, both of which lead directly to the beach and the Broadwalk area. Outside of typical rush hours, this route is generally relaxed with moderate traffic. Expect some congestion near the beach itself, especially at weekends, as visitors look for parking.

The key is to follow the road signs for "Rental Car Return" as soon as you approach the airport property. This entrance is separate from the "Arrivals" and "Departures" lanes for the terminals. By staying in the designated lanes for rental returns, you will be guided directly into the multi-level Rental Car Center. Ignoring the signs for specific airlines or terminals will keep you on the correct and most direct path.

For a stress-free early morning departure, plan to arrive at a petrol station near the airport approximately two hours before your flight. Allocate about 15 minutes to refuel the car. From there, it’s a 5–10 minute drive to the Avis return area. The return process and the subsequent shuttle ride to your terminal will take about 20–25 minutes combined, leaving you with over an hour for airline check-in and security.
