Why using your credit card insurance might not be the best idea?
Some credit cards offer car rental insurance, but it’s important to note that this coverage often excludes third-party liability protection and may come with deductibles that could lead to unexpected charges. Additionally, filing a claim for coverage in case of an accident can take months.
When you book with Hola Car Rentals, you receive full coverage for the rental vehicle and third-party liability protection up to US$1,000,000. Plus, claims are processed quickly, with no deductibles, hidden fees, or surprises.
What are the documents and requirements needed to pick-up the rental car?
The documents and requirements needed to pick up a rental car are:
- Valid driver's license
- Valid credit card in the name of the person picking up the rental car to pay the security
- deposit
- Round-trip airline or cruise tickets
- Valid passport
- Printed reservation voucher (only for Hertz)
- Minimum age of 25 (for Avis and Budget, the minimum age is 21)
- Security deposit payment (amount varies by rental company).
What payment methods do we accept on our website?
The accepted payment methods on our website are the following:
- Credit card in your name or in a relative's, friend's, or company's name
- Debit card with the Visa or MasterCard logo
- PayPal
- Apple Pay
- Google Pay
In addition, the reservation holder must have a credit card as a requirement for picking up the vehicle.
Can I pay for the security deposit using a relative's/friend's credit card?
The credit card that is used to pay for the security deposit when picking up the vehicle must belong to the reservation holder and cards that belong to others will not be accepted.

How can I cancel my reservation?
To cancel your reservation you only need to use our livechat service. It is located at the bottom right part of your screen on desktop version or at the top right part on mobile version.
- Click on the cancel button that appears in the Live Chat.
- Enter the reservation confirmation number that was sent to your email.
- Then enter the email address you used for the reservation.
- Carefully read the cancellation policies that will be displayed before confirming the cancellation of the reservation.
- Once you have read the cancellation policies and decide to proceed with the cancellation press the “Cancel” button.
- Finally you will receive an email confirming the cancellation of your reservation.
- The money will be refunded to your card within 7 to 10 business days.
How can I modify/change my reservation?
To modify or change your reservation, you must cancel your existing booking first and then make a new reservation with all the needed changes this is because it is not possible to change or modify an existing booking.

Are e-tolls included in my reservation?
The electronic toll system is not included in any of our rates; it can only be obtained directly at the counter, and its cost will be informed upon vehicle pickup.
What should I do if there are additional charges for tolls?
As it is not a service provided by Hola Car Rentals, the reservation holder must contact the rental company directly. It is essential to note that the rental company will charge any charges and related administrative fees to the registered credit card.
Where in the USA can I request the rental car pick-up?
Our network of locations includes all major airports in the United States and more than 10,000 locations across all 50 states.
Can I make a reservation over the phone?
When making your reservation on our website, you will have access to the most competitive rates and discounts in the market. Additionally, we do not accept reservations via phone or other means.
How to avoid fees for young drivers under 25 years old?
When booking with Avis/Budget, drivers aged 21 to 24 are exempt from age-related surcharges. This applies only to vehicle categories: Economy, Compact, Standard, Intermediate, Full-Size, and Intermediate SUV.
Can I rent a car if I'm under 25?
When renting with Avis, drivers aged 21 to 24 avoid the additional age surcharge. This applies only to Economy, Compact, Standard, Intermediate, Full-Size, and Intermediate SUV vehicle categories.If you rent with other companies and are under 25, you can still rent a car without issues, but depending on the state you are traveling to, you may be subject to additional charges and other conditions defined by each rental company.
Can I modify my reservation after signing the rental contract?
Once the contract is signed and the car is in use, you will not be able to modify or cancel the reservation with Hola Car Rentals. This process must be done directly with the rental company.
Can I pick up the car at one location and return it to another?
If you wish to drop-off the rental car to a different location, you can indicate this at the time of booking using the 'Drop-off Vehicle at a different location' feature. If the vehicle has already been picked up and you wish to change the drop-off location, you will need to contact the rental company directly to make the change, which may be subject to additional charges.
Are baby seats included in my reservation?
Baby seats are not included in our rates. If you wish to add a baby seat or any other service not included in your booking, you must request it directly at the rental car company counter. Take into account that any additional service requests at the counter may incur extra charges and fees.
What should I do if there are additional charges?
The reservation holder should contact directly the rental company. It's important to note that the rental company will charge any fines and related administrative fees to the registered credit card.
How can I avoid additional charges/fees?
When picking up the vehicle, please review the rental agreement to ensure that the contract terms match what was booked on our website.
What happens if I return the car later than agreed?
Returning the car after the agreed time will incur additional costs. In such cases, please contact the location where you picked up the car. The location's contact number can be found on the copy of the contract provided at the start of the rental.
How can I use the insurance included with the reservation?
The reservation holder must contact the rental company directly, and they will enforce the policies purchased in case of any issues or accidents.
Can I add an additional driver to my reservation?
Yes, it is possible to include up to 2 additional drivers at no extra charge. They must be present at the time of car pickup and meet the same requirements as the primary driver.
How do I confirm my reservation?
Once the reservation is made and you receive the email with the details, the reservation is already confirmed and no further action is required.
Is it possible to rent a car for more than 30 days?
Yes, it is possible to rent a car for 30 or more days with some of our companies. When searching for a vehicle, the system will provide results based on the selected search with the rental company that allows it.
Can I drive the car in another state or country?
Driving the rental car across different states and crossing the border into Canada is allowed with most rental companies. Driving into Mexico is not permitted. For travel outside the reservation territory, it is recommended to inform the rental car company when picking up the vehicle to avoid issues and addtional charges.
What should I do if I have an accident?
In case of a traffic accident, immediately contact the emergencies and then report the incident to the rental company. The contact number for the location is on the copy of the contract provided when picking up the car.
Is it allowed for another person to drive the rental car?
Only drivers registered on the contract are allowed to drive the rental car. Up to 2 additional drivers can be included at no extra charge. They must be present when picking up the car and meet the same requirements as the primary driver.
Are there any usage restrictions for the rented car?
Vehicles rented through Hola Car Rentals are intended for personal use only and should not be used for towing, public transportation, or other non-rental related purposes. Any additional restrictions will be clarified at the time of signing the rental contract.

- Explore Options: Our website will display a list of rates from different rental companies available for the locations and dates you have selected.
- Vehicle Detail: Once you find a vehicle of your choice, click on the "Book Now" button and choose the payment option (pay now or pay at destination) that suits you best. This will take you to the reservation form, where you will find detailed information about the rate, as well as fields to add the driver's details.
- Complete Your Reservation: In the reservation form, you will find the rate inclusions. Fill in the required fields with the driver's information and complete the reservation by clicking on the "Book Now" button.

What is the minimum age to rent a car?
With most of our partner rental companies, the minimum age to rent a vehicle without extra charges is 25 years old. If you are under 25, you can rent the car without issues, but depending on the state you are traveling to, you may be subject to additional charges and other conditions defined by each rental company. Only gor rentals with Avis and Budget the minimum age is 21.
What is an international credit card?
An international credit card is a credit card accepted by merchants and banks worldwide. They are usually Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Diners cards. It is important to check the international use policies with the card issuer to ensure it is activated for international transactions.
Why do I need a credit card to pick up the car?
- You must present a personal credit card, valid in the country of pickup, with sufficient funds for a hold as a security deposit, which will be refunded after returning the vehicle. Credit cards that do not belong to the reservation holder will not be accepted.
- The car rental company is solely responsible for approving the presented credit card.
- Prepayment online does not exempt the renter from presenting a valid international credit card when picking up the vehicle.
What is a pre-paid reservation voucher?
The voucher is a digital document sent to your email at the time of booking. This voucher must be printed and presented when picking up the vehicle only when booking with Hertz to avoid additional charges.
This document officially confirms all agreed services, payment conditions, rates, discounts, and the availability of vehicles within the selected group.
What is the security deposit?
The security deposit is a sum of money provided by the reservation holder as a safeguard to cover potential additional costs, such as damages or fines. This amount is held during the rental period and released once the vehicle is returned in the agreed-upon condition. It is important to understand the rental contract terms and conditions, including the security deposit.
Can I pay for my reservation using someone else's credit card?
Yes, remember that you can pay for the reservation online with a credit card in your name or in the name of a relative, friend, or company. However, the credit card used when picking up the car must belong to the reservation holder, and credit cards that belong to others will not be accepted.
Where can I find my reservation voucher?
The voucher is sent via email at the time of the online reservation. You must print and present the voucher at the counter when picking up the car. (Only for reservations made with Hertz).
What is your cancellation policy?
- In case of canceling your reservation, Hola Car Rentals will not apply any penalty if you decide to cancel your reservation at least 48 hours before the vehicle pickup time.
- If you cancel within 48 hours before the pickup time, a penalty of 50% of the total booking value will apply.
- If you do not use your reservation or decide to cancel it after the scheduled start, a penalty of 100% of the total booking value will apply.
- There will be no exceptions!
Can I add GPS or Gas to my rental car reservation?
Hola Car Rentals only offers All-Inclusive rates, which include car insurance, third-party liability, taxes and fees, unlimited mileage, and additional driver service. If you wish to include other services such as GPS or fuel, you will need to request them at the counter when you pick up the vehicle, and they may be subject to extra charges by the rental company.
Are pets allowed in my rental car reservation?
Most rental companies allow pets in the reservation; however, we recommend contacting the location where you are picking up the vehicle to inform them about your pets. Additionally, make sure to return the rental car clean and free of animal hair to avoid additional cleaning or repair fees.
Is smoking prohibited inside the rental car?
Yes, most rental companies have a smoke-free policy, so smoking inside rental cars is prohibited. If caught smoking inside the car, you could be subject to additional charges and fees.
What types of cars can I rent?
Hola Rent a Car offers a variety of car models and manufacturers. Each time you search on our website, you will have the option to choose from 9 categories: Economy, Intermediate, Full-size, Minivan, Van, SUV, Luxury, Special, and Convertible. The available car types will be displayed based on the date, time, and location you selected.
¿Cuánto es el depósito requerido por la compañía de alquiler de autos?
